Opportunity
Our Development team is growing, and we’re looking for a Junior QA Engineer who is excited to build a strong foundation in both QA and DevOps. This role blends software testing for infrastructure support, with the opportunity to gain experience across multiple teams and technologies. You’ll report into QA and work day-to-day on the DevOps team, contributing to automated testing, monitoring tools, and deployment processes that support our engineering teams. You’ll also jump in to help other development teams when extra QA support is needed.

The Role
As a Junior QA Engineer, you’ll support testing for the DevOps team and step in to help other development teams as needed. You’ll gain hands-on experience with how our platform is built, tested, and deployed, while working with a collaborative team that values quality and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Write and maintain test plans and test cases for infrastructure-related changes
- Test and validate automation scripts, deployment tools, and monitoring systems
- Support QA coverage for development teams as needed (e.g. during vacations or high-priority sprints)
- Participate in sprint planning, retrospectives, and technical discussions
- Contribute to troubleshooting efforts and root cause analysis
- Help uphold testing best practices across both QA and DevOps workflows
- Collaborate closely with team members to ensure quality and reliability across projects

Technical Expertise:
- Co-op level or entry-level experience in QA, software development, or a related technical field
- Familiarity with scripting or programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Bash
- Understanding of software testing fundamentals (unit, integration, end-to-end testing)
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, automation, or cloud infrastructure
- Experience using Git and GitHub for version control
- Basic experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases
- Exposure to automated testing tools or frameworks
- Familiarity with Agile workflows like Scrum or Kanban
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent training

What to Expect in Your First 90 Days:
- Complete Method’s bootcamp.
- Understand Method’s values and how our teams collaborate to drive results.
- Learn and become an expert of our internal communication tools, norms, and practices.
- Get to know the QAs team process and begin to apply them.
- Work independently with support from the QA team and devops testing Method applications.
- Write code and contribute to test automation frameworks.
- Participate in your first quarterly review.
- Gain knowledge across Methods platform and be able to fill in gaps across the QA team when needed.
- Write test automation code and participate in code reviews.
Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000 per annum.
